Hands-on foundational training for operators and programmers new to Okuma or CNC machining.

DAY ONE: Machine & Controller Fundamentals

  • Understand 2-axis lathe components and machine functions
  • Navigate the controller interface and screens
  • Learn key button functions and machine controls
  • Review startup, shutdown, lubrication, and coolant system procedures

 

DAY TWO: Programming & Machine Operation

  • Learn the basics of G-code and M-code programming
  • Understand program structure and programming best practices
  • Load and manage programs in the controller
  • Operate the machine, move axes, load tools, and use Manual/MDI modes


DAY THREE: BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER

  • Configure tool and work offsets using manual and probe methods
  • Set up workholding and prepare the machine for production
  • Learn best practices for proving out and running programs
  • Review machine lock operation, troubleshooting, and Q&A
